

Loree Russeau is an internationally respected dance educator, adjudicator, choreographer, and arts and entertainment executive based in Southern California. Her distinguished career spans more than four decades of excellence in dance education, choreography, competitive adjudication, creative direction, and arts operations. A graduate of the University of Michigan, where she studied Education, Business, Dance, and Health Education, Russeau combines artistic excellence with educational leadership and business expertise to create meaningful opportunities for artists around the world.
Internationally recognized for her work as an educator and adjudicator, Russeau has taught, choreographed, and judged throughout the United States, Europe, and Central America. Since 2023, she has served as USA Ambassador for Blandi Dance Events (Malta) and La Luna Dance Center (Italy), where she also serves as an International Judge and Master Class Instructor. Her international engagements include Blandi Dance Events (Malta and Spain), La Luna Dance Center (Italy), Magic World Festival (Bulgaria), Bucharest Dance Festival (Romania), TDX (Panama), and numerous workshops and festivals throughout Europe.
As Founder and Former Artistic Director of the Academy of Dance in metropolitan Detroit, Russeau established one of the region's most respected dance training programs. Through Dance Theatre USA (DTUSA), she has awarded more than $500,000 in scholarships to leading institutions including American Ballet Theatre, Joffrey Ballet, Broadway Dance Center, Steps on Broadway, and the University of Michigan. Her students have gone on to perform on Broadway, with the Radio City Rockettes, and in major commercial productions. She also choreographed for the Miss America Organization, where her student Kaye Lani Rae Rafko was crowned Miss America 1988.
Committed to expanding access to world-class dance education, Russeau has developed scholarship initiatives and international partnerships throughout her career. From 2023–2025, she collaborated with Peridance Center in New York City to create opportunities for international students. As European Advocate for Steps on Broadway, she awarded more than $21,000 in scholarships to dancers abroad. Her commitment to cultural exchange also includes collaboration with the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory through the Russia & West Virginia Foundation, while her educational outreach has benefited dancers from more than a dozen countries across Europe, North America, and Central America.
In 2025, her choreography was featured at Walt Disney World, and her work was presented at the CDF Festival in Ancona, Italy, at the historic Mole Vanvitelliana. Earlier in her international career, she was a featured guest artist in Granada and Seville, Spain, collaborating with Angela DeMello, former Soloist with The Royal Ballet and Principal Dancer with the English National Ballet.
Russeau previously served as Vice President of the Professional Dance Teachers of America and was a longtime All-Star Faculty member with Hoctor's Dance Caravan, one of America's most influential dance education organizations. She is also a Championship Adjudicator for the World Artistic Dance Federation (WADF) and has been recognized as a Master Teacher by the Professional Dance Teachers of America, Hoctor's Dance Caravan, Stars of Tomorrow, and Dance Educators of America.
Beyond the dance world, Russeau contributes to creative and business operations for Intelliscape Films and Grand Avenue Studios in Los Angeles, supporting projects that bridge entertainment, education, and the performing arts. She also collaborates with Project Runway designer Gordana Gehlhausen and the California Center for the Arts on interdisciplinary initiatives that unite dance, fashion, film, and live performance.
A Certified Pilates Instructor specializing in dancer conditioning and injury prevention, Russeau remains dedicated to mentoring artists, cultivating international collaborations, and advancing excellence in dance education. Through leadership, creativity, and a lifelong commitment to the arts, she continues to inspire the next generation of performers, educators, and creative professionals worldwide.
