Loree Russeau is an internationally recognized dance educator, choreographer, and mentor who has been shaping the global dance landscape with her dynamic vision and dedication to excellence. A Master Teacher with accolades from the Professional Dance Teachers of America, Hoctor’s Dance Caravan, Stars of Tomorrow, and Dance Educators of America, her legacy in dance education is both deep and far-reaching.
Originally from the Detroit metropolitan area, she founded the Academy of Dance, where she served as President and Artistic Director, shaping generations of dancers and building a respected training program.
With an enduring dedication to developing young artists, Ms. Russeau has impacted thousands of students worldwide. Through her company, Dance Theatre USA, she has awarded over $500,000 in scholarships to prestigious institutions such as the Joffrey Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, University of Michigan, Peridance Capezio Center, Broadway Dance Center, and Steps on Broadway.
A graduate of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor—where she studied Education, Business, Dance, and Health Education—Ms. Russeau has facilitated cultural exchange programs with the Russia & West Virginia Foundation, bringing dancers and musicians from the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory to the U.S. Her scholarship initiatives have extended globally, reaching students from Canada, Romania, Bulgaria, Germany, Nicaragua, Mexico, Panama, Italy, Costa Rica, Russia, England, and Scotland.
In 2016, she was a featured guest artist at the Dance Master Class in Granada and Seville, Spain, collaborating with Angela DeMello, former soloist with the Royal Ballet and Principal Dancer with the English National Ballet. She continues to work as a freelance artist with elite institutions, sharing her expertise and inspiring dancers worldwide.
In 2019, Ms. Russeau served as European Advocate for Steps on Broadway, awarding $21,000 in scholarships for the NYC/Global Dance Education and Visa programs. She has since continued her scholarship efforts with Peridance Center in 2023, 2024, and 2025, expanding international access to professional training.
Her students have performed with premier companies around the globe, including the world-famous Radio City Rockettes, on Broadway, in major commercials, and in music videos. One of her most notable students, Kaye Lani Rae Rafko, was crowned Miss America in 1988.
As of 2023, Ms. Russeau serves as the USA Ambassador for Blandi Dance Events in Malta and La Luna Dance Center in Italy. She is also a Championship Adjudicator for the World Artistic Dance Federation (WADF) and an International Master Class instructor and judge for esteemed global events including La Luna Dance Center in Ancona, Italy; the Magic World Festival in Bulgaria; TDX in Panama City, Panama; the Bucharest Dance Festival in Romania; and Blandi Dance Events in Malta and Spain.
In 2025, Ms. Russeau’s choreography will be featured in performances at Walt Disney World, showcasing her dynamic creative vision on one of the world’s most iconic stages. She will also return to teach at La Luna Dance Center in Italy this July, continuing her global commitment to excellence in dance education.
Currently based in Southern California, Ms. Russeau remains deeply involved in entertainment and entrepreneurial ventures. She plays an integral role in business operations at Intelliscape Films and Travel Ball Partners in Los Angeles, contributes to film and multimedia productions, collaborates with Project Runway designer Gordana Gehlhausen featuring her latest fashions, and supports creative initiatives with the California Center for the Arts.
